REVIEW: Sleek i-Divine Palettes + Swatches

From concealers, to lipsticks, to falsies, Sleek has it all. I've tried most of them and not one product has disappointed me. Now it's time for me to try their eye shadow palettes.

Each palette contains 12 colours, a full-size mirror and a dual ended sponge tip.
So far, the i-Divine palettes are available in 13 shades, including the newest one called "Snapshots".

HITS:
  • most colours are very pigmented. Especially the greens, blues and plums.
  • the lighter colours are perfect for highlighting.
  • it does not crease on my eyes, even without using a primer.
  • the sponge tip that comes with the palette is actually not so bad. It feels like rubber and does not fall apart after a few uses like most sponge tip applicators. It also does a good job on applying and blending the product.
  • the packaging is very compact and sturdy so you won't have to worry about it breaking once you travel with it.
  • they're very reasonably priced! I bought each palette for only Php 650.

MISSES:
  • the lighter colours, as well as the matte ones are quite chalky.
  • there's a few colour repeats. Especially on the "Sunset" palette. See the picture below.

REVIEW: Bobbie Magnet-Ficent Polish

After crackle nail polish, another nail trend really got everyone in the beauty world talking. And this is the magnet polish. It's basically a type of a nail polish that creates a 3D design just by holding a magnet against it after you apply it on your tips.

It was first introduced by the brand Nails Inc. in London and then a bunch of other international nail polish brands from high-end to low-end produced their own versions. I've been dying to get a hold and try this particular polish for months. I went online to check different brands and their prices are insane! Not to mention, I still have to pay for shipping!

So imagine my surprise when I saw these babies on my trip to the mall today. Bobbie just comes up with the best and trendiest polishes among all the local brands. And they're the first ones to produce crackle polishes in the local market as well! About these magnetic ones, I'm not sure how many shades this product comes in, but these are pretty much all the shades that are currently available at Watson's.

SHADES (L-R): VI-201, GR-101, GR-203, VI-104, BR-202

The magnet is located at the top of the cap, it's not detachable so you do have to screw the cap on right after you apply the polish, so you can use magnet. There are only two magnet designs as of the moment, these are pretty much the basic ones but it'll do. But I do hope they come up with more.

HITS:
  • the packaging is great.
  • it comes with instructions. Well, I didn't really need any more instructions since it's pretty simple, but it would be very helpful for those who are trying this product for the first time.
  • you get a lot of product. Each bottle contains 10mL of product. The standard ones only goes for 5-8mL.
  • the 3D design shows up fast. The instructions indicates that you should hold the magnet over the nail for 5-10 secs.
  • the brush applicator has very fine and soft bristles, which gives you an even application and better control.
  • lastly, it's cheap! Each bottle costs Php 79.00. Well, not exactly cheap but compared to the prices of imported ones that ranges from Php 400-700, this is dirt cheap!

MISSES:
  • the magnets only comes in two designs(shown above), I hope they come up with more.
  • some shades are quite similar, especially the violet and the green ones.
  • it chips fast without a top coat. Well everyone loves putting on top coats anyway!

REVIEW: Revlon Colorstay Foundation

There are times when you just wake up and don't feel so confident on going out with a totally bare face. Dark circles under the eyes, pimple marks, discolorations and tons of other skin problems can just swoop down our confidence. That is why it's always helpful when you have a trusted foundation within reach.

SHADE: 220 Natural Beige

HITS:
  • it blends really well on the skin.
  • it does stay on for 24 hours as said in the bottle (or cap!), especially when you set it with loose powder.
  • you get so much product. Unlike the other liquid foundations that also comes in glass containers, this one doesn't come in an unreasonably chunky bottle so there's more product than bottle.
  • it hides imperfections fast. You don't have to go over your unwanted spots to achieve a flawless look.

MISSES:
  • it kinda smells like a combination of paint and that cough syrup you've always hated. (but for some reason, I don't mind so much!)
  • it can get a bit cakey if you don't use a moisturizer or a primer beforehand.
  • it does not come with a pump. You do have to pour it on your finger or at the back of your hand before applying it to your face which can get a bit messy.
  • it sets very quickly. You do have to work fast if you don't want to end up with blotches all over your face. For some this is a good thing, but not for me because I'm very slow!

REVIEW: ELF 100-piece Palette ('12 Spring Collection)

I've been practicing eye make up recently, but all I have in my mini collection are eye-shadow duos. So I looked up cheap but good quality eye-shadow palettes and this one always comes up. I agree with what most reviewers said. It is indeed a great palette for starters. PRICE: Php. 899.00

HITS:
  • every color you'll need is in this palette.
  • the white and cream tones on the left side are great for highlighting.
  • the colors are arranged properly. The colors belonging in the same shades are lined up in the same row.
  • the white container makes it look expensive.
  • unlike other palettes, this one comes with a mirror (located behind the ELF logo).

MISSES:
  • the lighter colors are a bit chalky.
  • you might need a primer to make some colors show up.
  • most colors are not blend-able.
  • the white container indeed looks nice, but it's not sturdy, like it could break almost instantly once it's accidentally dropped.

Below are the swatches for some of the darker tones.
